Not at all. Most people come on their own, and we rotate partners throughout class so everyone gets to dance and learn.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes and you can move in. For shoes, people wear all-leather shoes or light sneakers. Women can choose between flats and heels with a broad heel of around 3-4cm height if wearing heels. Light sneakers are popular for women because they are comfortable and make it easier to move around the floor. Suede soles are recommended as leather soles can be slippery while rubber soles can be sticky.

What level should I join?

If you’re brand new to swing dancing, start with our Beginner Drop‑In or Intro to Swing Dancing series. If you’ve taken a few months of classes and feel comfortable with the basics, you’re welcome to join our next‑level series. When in doubt, ask us — we’re happy to guide you.

Yes — it helps everyone learn faster and makes the class more fun. If you prefer to stay with one partner, it's totally fine.
